Our Veterinary Services | Grounded, Transparent, and Dedicated to Communication
At Jack’s Veterinary Hospital, our dedication to clinical excellence goes hand in hand with our genuine empathy for pet owners’ concerns. Led by a veterinary team with over 10 years of clinical experience—including Dr. Vincent Tse—we focus on chronic disease management and open, transparent communication, striving to provide practical, reliable medical support for you and your beloved pets.
Professional & Compassionate Nursing Team
Our veterinary nurses are personally trained by our veterinarians, blending strong clinical expertise with deep compassion. Highly skilled in technical procedures—including IV catheter placement, fluid administration, emergency resuscitation, laboratory sampling, and inpatient monitoring—they treat every animal with patience, gentle handling, and attentive care under direct veterinary supervision.
General Consultations & Second Opinions
We provide routine outpatient care and manage a wide range of chronic internal medicine conditions in cats and dogs. We specialize in complex, recurrent cases where owners are seeking a professional veterinary second opinion. Clinically, our focus includes:
- Feline Upper Respiratory Infections: Chronic, intractable conditions in specific breeds (such as British Shorthairs, Ragdolls, and Maine Coons) presenting with persistent nasal discharge, frequent sneezing, and chronic rhinitis.
- Dermatology & Allergies: Chronic skin conditions, including persistent pruritus (itching), severe dander, recurrent fungal infections, allergic eczema, and alopecia. Through precise diagnostic screening, we deliver objective, practical, and transparent long-term management plans tailored to each patient.
Exotic Pet Medical Services
We offer dedicated outpatient and surgical care for non-canine and non-feline companion animals. Our Tai Po veterinary team brings extensive experience in exotic animal medicine, caring for rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, chinchillas, prairie dogs, turtles, tortoises, lizards, snakes, and birds (including parrots). Services include:
- Routine wellness examinations
- Specialized exotic pet dentistry
- Desexing / neutering procedures
- Specialized soft tissue and orthopedic surgery
Internal Medicine & Advanced Surgery
Beyond routine desexing and general internal medicine, our hospital is equipped to perform complex, high-level surgical procedures, including:
- Advanced Soft Tissue Surgery: Perineal urethrostomy (PU), cholecystectomy, and gastrointestinal resection and anastomosis.
- Emergency Abdominal & Thoracic Surgery: Canine gastric dilatation-volvulus (GDV / bloat), gastrointestinal foreign body obstruction, and feline subcutaneous ureteral bypass (SUB) system placement.
Electrochemotherapy (ECT)
We are the first veterinary hospital in Hong Kong to introduce clinical electrochemotherapy, having successfully treated over a hundred oncology cases. This advanced canine and feline cancer treatment combines low-dose chemotherapeutic agents with targeted electrical pulses. It precisely targets tumor cells while significantly reducing the systemic side effects typically associated with conventional chemotherapy.
Minimally Invasive Endoscopy
Equipped with a modern veterinary endoscopy system, we use high-definition micro-cameras for non-invasive internal diagnostic examinations. This technology allows for non-surgical retrieval of gastric foreign bodies and deep ear/nasal evaluations, drastically reducing surgical trauma and accelerating postoperative recovery.
Diagnostic Imaging & In-House Laboratory
Our facility is fully equipped with high-resolution veterinary ultrasonography, digital pet radiography (X-ray), and comprehensive in-house blood analyzers. On-site testing enables fast, accurate diagnoses, allowing our doctors to initiate targeted treatments immediately without critical delays.
Inpatient Care & Pet ICU
We provide comprehensive veterinary hospitalization and monitoring services, featuring a dedicated temperature-controlled, oxygen-enriched Pet Intensive Care Unit (ICU). With an automated oxygen delivery system and precise climate controls, our ICU provides vital life support for patients recovering from major surgery, suffering from cardiopulmonary compromise, or in critical condition.
